The processing time for passports, after submission of duly filled application form and provision of requisite requirements, is 8 weeks.
TYPES OF PASSPORTS APPLICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
(i)Requirements for new (initial) applications.
1. A duly filled passport application Form 19.
2. Two (2) payment invoices for the prescribed fee.
3. Original Birth Certificate and a copy for citizens of Kenya by birth (If born abroad, Birth Certificate for Kenyan children born abroad. To apply refer to the website.
4. Original Certificate of Registration and a copy for citizens of Kenya by registration.
5. Original applicant’s national identity card and a copy for Applicants over 18 years of age.
6. Certified Copy of a recommender's Kenya national identity card and or copy of bio-date page of valid Kenya passport. The person recommending should not be a relative.
7. Duly filled parental consent Form for minors. (Click here)
8. Certified Copies of parents’ national identity cards and Death certificates where applicable.
9. Three colored passport size photographs (Size 35 X 45 mm-Australian standard).
10.And any other additional document(s) as may be required.
(ii) Requirements for replacement of passports
1. A duly filled passport application Form 19.
2. Current valid/old original passport and copy.
3. Two (2) payment invoices for the prescribed fee.
4. Original Birth Certificate and a copy for citizens of Kenya by birth (If born abroad, Birth Certificate for Kenyan children born abroad. To apply, refer to the website.
5. Original Certificate of Registration and a copy for citizens of Kenya by registration.
6. Original applicant’s national identity card and a copy for Applicants over 18 years of age.
7. Certified Copy of a recommender’s Kenya national identity card and or copy of bio-date page of valid Kenya passport. The person recommending should not be a relative.
